At BMC Academy (part of the Customer Success department), our mission is to add value to our customers, employees, and partners by providing access to high-quality training and enablement resources.

This position is for a Lead Instructional Designer (ID) in the BMC Academy team. As a Lead ID, you will lead and drive our Playbooks Program. A Playbook is a structured guide that provides learners with strategies, processes, insights, best practices, templates, and other resources to perform their roles effectively. These playbooks aim to put content into context for users’ consumption.

Playbooks are pivotal in enabling our Customer Success department to deliver consistent, high-impact results. Using your instructional design expertise, you will work closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) and stakeholders to design, develop, rollout and maintain playbooks that are instructionally sound, engaging, actionable, and aligned with business objectives.

Here is how, through this exciting role, you will contribute to BMC's and your own success:

Conduct a comprehensive needs analysis to identify the business goal for each playbook and ensure alignment with targeted outcomes.
Collaborate with SMEs, Customer Success leadership, and cross-functional teams to extract relevant content, challenging and refining inputs for clarity and relevance.
Propose and implement innovative, user-centric approaches to present playbook content effectively, including creative storytelling, data visualization, and interactive elements.
Develop a logical, learner-friendly outline for organizing playbook content to enhance comprehension and usability.
Guide instructional designers in creating storyboards and developing playbooks, while reviewing their work and being hands-on as needed.
Facilitate review sessions with stakeholders to ensure the playbooks meet business objectives and user needs.
Establish and maintain a scalable process for playbook creation, review, updates, and integration into broader enablement initiatives.
Track and incorporate feedback from users and stakeholders to iteratively improve playbook content and format.
Define and implement metrics to measure the effectiveness of playbooks in achieving desired outcomes, leveraging analytics and user feedback for optimization.
Use actionable templates and practical tools to make playbooks engaging, ensuring continuous improvement based on evaluation results.

To ensure you’re set up for success, you will bring the following skillset & experience:

Minimum 10 years of proven instructional design experience.
Deep understanding of adult learning theories and best practices.
Advanced writing and editing skills, with the ability to distill complex information into clear, concise, and actionable guidance.
Proficiency in developing engaging and interactive content using Articulate Rise.
Experience with design tools (such as Canva), video editing tools (such as Camtasia or Loom), LMS (such as CSOD), and LXP (such as Degreed) is a plus.
Exceptional interpersonal and collaboration skills; ability to work effectively with SMEs and stakeholders at all levels.
Strategic thinking with a creative mindset to produce innovative solutions.
Advanced organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

At BMC we believe in pay transparency and have set the midpoint of the salary band for this role at 2,628,600 INR. Actual salaries depend on a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training, licensure, and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

The salary listed is just one component of BMC's employee compensation package. Other rewards may include a variable plan and country specific benefits.
