The Lead DevOps Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the organization's networking infrastructure across the on-premises environment and multiple cloud platforms, including AWS, Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform), and Oracle. This role involves overseeing network projects, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability of network services, and leading a team of network engineers and technicians. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and a strategic mindset to support the company's growth and technological advancement.
Key Responsibilities:
Network Design and Implementation:
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance network infrastructure.
- Develop and enforce network architecture standards, policies, and procedures.
- Oversee network upgrades, expansions, and migrations to new technologies.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor a team of network engineers and technicians.
- Allocate resources effectively and manage team performance.
- Conduct regular team meetings and provide technical guidance.
Network Performance and Security:
- Monitor network performance and ensure high availability and reliability.
- Implement and manage network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection systems, and other security protocols.
- Perform regular security assessments and vulnerability testing.
Troubleshooting and Support:
- Oversee the resolution of complex network issues and escalations.
- Provide third-level support for network-related incidents and problems.
- Ensure timely and effective troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
Project Management:
- Plan and manage network projects from conception through implementation.
- Coordinate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
- Maintain project documentation and report on progress to senior management.
Vendor Management:
- Manage relationships with network equipment vendors and service providers.
- Evaluate and recommend new network technologies and solutions.
- Oversee procurement and maintenance of network hardware and software.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, procedures, and policies.
- Prepare and present reports on network performance, security, and project status.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
· Minimum of 10 years of experience in network engineering, with at least 1 years in a leadership.
· Strong knowledge of network protocols, architecture, and security.
· Experience in configuring and managing BGP, Routing, IPsec Tunnels, VPC, VCN, subnets, TGW, DRG, security group, Fast connect, Direct Connect.
· Experience with network design, implementation, and troubleshooting in large-scale environments.
· Proficiency in configuring and managing network devices such as Cisco routers, switches, ASA/Firepower firewalls, and F5 load balancers.
· Proficiency in configuring and managing cloud technologies such as AWS, Oracle, and Google Cloud (GCP).
· Experience in data capture and analyze using Wireshark, Tcpdump.
· Proficiency in configuration and managing SSL certificates and Cipher security lists.
· Experience in working with F5 LTM, GTM and iRules.
· Extensive Knowledge of scripting and automation tools (Python, Ansible and Terraform).
· Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools.
· Industry certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent are highly desirable.
· Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
Preferred Skills:
· Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Oracle, GCP).
· Familiarity with SD-WAN and network virtualization technologies.
· Understanding of ITIL processes and practices.
· Experience with Palo Firewall, and DNS technologies.
· Familiarity with VMware Technologies.
· Familiarity with Dell Blade Chassis Technologies.
Working Conditions:
· Office-based with some on-site work required.
· Availability to work outside regular business hours as needed for network maintenance and incident resolution.
· Participate on the Oncall rotational duty.
