Description and Requirements

This role is responsible for positioning and supporting Education-related business development activities at a regional level while developing and maintaining high-level relationships with both external (for example: customer stake holders, customer economic buyers) and internal (for example:  BMC Area Managers, Regional Managers, sales, pre-sales, technical consultants) people. 

The role reports to: Director Education Services. 

Estimated travel: 25%

The individual must:
  • Develop partnerships with the Field Sales, Channel Sales, Services, Telesales, existing customers, and prospects to identify education opportunities that help achieve Education results. 
  • Drive increases in education bookings and attachment rates in product and services sales opportunities through relationships developed with Sales and Services management team in their assigned Area. 
  • Drive increased education revenue through collaboration with Account Directors and sales teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Achieve personal Signings and Revenue targets for assigned area. 
  • Attain regional education Signings targets through independent initiatives and collaboration with field organizations. 
  • Drive transactional Signings through regular transactional campaigns
  • Drive resell Signings through Partners
  • Drive certification and accreditation of partners
  • Be a conduit for communicating BMC’s education strategy and offerings to the Sales Team, Services, Telesales, customers, prospects, and partners. 
  • Remain involved during, and ensure the customer is satisfied with, the delivery of education. 
  • Regularly visit customers to assess satisfaction and identify follow-up education opportunities. 
  • Oversee the application / implementation of new work processes as they relate to Education transactions. 
  • Use skills and understanding of consequences and implications of decisions and actions to help colleagues, specifically in Education Telesales, Direct Sales and Services weigh risks in customer proposals.  


Skill Set: 
  • A very strong business understanding is required to demonstrate and explain how BMC Software technology education can fulfill the business requirements of customers. 
  • Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills. 
  • Strong awareness of technology and how training complements the technical solution. 
  • Prior experience selling education or services products (3+ years desired)
  • Experience selling in a high-volume- Technical skill sufficient to understand education products and customer needs to tailor/customize education
  • Skilled in using all MS-Office products
  • Strong work ethic
  • Self-motivated, working independently to exceed job requirements and assigned quota
  • Able to quickly learn current selling processes
  • Project management and administration
  • Personable, team player
  • Understanding of IT solutions and job roles
  • Generally works without consulting their manager. 
  • Independent decisions are made daily.
