We are seeking a mid level Helix Innovation Engineer to design, prototype, and implement customer and internal use cases using the BMC Helix Innovation Suite. This role blends low code development, AI assisted “vibe coding,” and problem solving to rapidly turn ideas into working solutions.


You will work closely with product managers, support teams, solution architects, and customers to understand problems, experiment quickly, and deliver scalable, production ready extensions on the Helix platform. This role emphasizes speed to value, iteration, and creativity, balanced with solid engineering discipline.

Key Responsibilities

Use Case Discovery & Solution Design
  • Partner with stakeholders to understand business, support, and operational use cases
  • Translate loosely defined problems into implementable Helix Innovation Suite solutions
  • Propose multiple solution approaches and rapidly test assumptions through prototypes

AI & Automation Enablement
  • Assist in building AI enabled workflows and agents leveraging:
    • Helix GPT / virtual agent capabilities
    • Knowledge driven and automation driven use cases
  • Help operationalize AI concepts into practical, usable solutions

Helix Innovation Suite Development
  • Build and extend applications using:
    • Helix Innovation Studio
    • Helix Platform APIs and services
    • Low code / no code capabilities where appropriate
  • Develop: 
    • Custom objects and processes
    • UI views and modern UX components
    • Integrations with ITSM, DWP, and external systems
  • Support additive use cases triggered by existing Helix workflows

Administration of Helix SaaS Platform
  • Own configuration administration for Helix ITSM, Helix Innovation Suite, HelixGPT, and other BMC Helix applications, including setup, maintenance, and lifecycle management of platform components.
  • Support and enforce change control, including configuration changes and promotions across non production and production environments.
  • Coordinate with cross functional teams involved in platform administration and feature implementation.

Vibe Coding & Rapid Prototyping
  • Use AI assisted development (vibe coding) to accelerate:
    • App creation in Helix Innovation Studio
    • Workflow logic, integrations, and UI components
    • Proof of concepts and MVPs
  • Iterate quickly based on feedback from users and stakeholders
  • Balance speed with maintainability and platform best practices

Quality, Documentation & Handoff
  • Ensure solutions are secure, supportable, and aligned with platform standards
  • Create lightweight documentation for:
    • Architecture and design decisions
    • Configuration and operational support
  • Collaborate with support and operations teams for smooth handoff
Required Qualifications
  • 3–6 years of experience in software development, platform engineering, or low code development
  • Hands on experience with BMC Helix Innovation Suite or similar enterprise low code platforms
  • Strong problem solving skills and comfort working with ambiguous requirements
  • Experience building:
    • Workflow automation
    • REST API integrations
    • Data models and UI components
  • Familiarity with modern development concepts:
    • REST / JSON
    • Event driven workflows
    • Cloud native architectures
  • Ability to explain technical solutions to non technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with:
    • Helix ITSM, Digital Workplace, or Helix GPT
    • AI assisted development tools (Copilot style workflows)
  • Background in enterprise SaaS, IT operations, or customer support platforms
  • Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, or release management in SaaS environments
  • Exposure to UX principles and user centred design

  • Deliver multiple production ready Helix use cases from concept to deployment
  • Reduce time to solution through effective vibe coding and prototyping
  • Become a trusted partner for stakeholders seeking innovation on the Helix platform
  • Contribute reusable patterns, templates, and accelerators for future use cases
