Description and Requirements

We are looking for an experienced Director of Solutions Marketing with deep experience in the DevOps and AIOps Management space to join our team. You will lead a team of solutions marketing professionals and develop audience-based positioning and messaging that builds awareness, preference, and loyalty across our campaigns and customers. You will have global marketing responsibility and work closely with product marketing, product management, sales, and sales enablement teams to evangelize our message, build customer relationships, and develop solution-focused content to drive sales pipeline growth, progression, and conversion into revenue.  As part of your responsibilities, you will represent BMC at industry events, sales, and partner meetings.  

  • Lead a team of solutions marketing professionals in the DevOps and AIOps Management space, where you will maintain an environment of trust, honesty, collaboration, teamwork, high morale, and professionalism while also establishing aggressive but achievable objectives, setting quantifiable targets, measuring progress, focusing on execution, and delivering committed results.       
  • Develop a close understanding of our customers and their most pressing challenges through market interactions, external research, and feedback loops.
  • Lead go-to-market execution for our solutions and influence how we prioritize and win target markets, product categories, and buyer segments.
  • Develop solution-oriented marketing content that articulates a compelling and unique value proposition and wider market narrative to target personas. 
  • Analyze the competitive landscape and provide sales tools and strategies that will help BMC win in the marketplace.   
  • Develop marketing content to support the buyer’s journey including assets for internal and external communications, demand generation, business development reps, inside sales, direct sales, and customer success teams. Assets will include customer presentations, eBooks, solution briefs, web content, videos, ROI models, and competitive materials.
  • Develop strong partnerships and processes across the organization to enable strategic decision-making.
  • Support awareness and thought leadership goals; support AR/PR and awareness activities including representing BMC at trade shows, industry events and other thought leadership forums.
  • Represent BMC externally at webinars, conferences, and in customer meetings in a credible and compelling manner.
  • Engage with technology partners in the ecosystem to create integration synergies and joint marketing programs that can expand our growth rate, increase relevance in our customer environments, and provide competitive advantage.

  • 10+ years of successful progressive experience with at least 5 years leading solutions marketing teams in the IT operations management software space.  Experience with DevOps and AIOps is required.
  • Strong experience in digital and content marketing including web marketing, SEO, collateral generation, videos, customer references, case studies, email marketing campaigns 
  • Ability to build highly effective sales enablement materials and conduct training sessions for sales reps, business development reps, inside sales, account managers, and business partners across the globe
  • Experience working with analyst relations teams and external industry analysts to improve the awareness and perception of BMCs offerings 
  • Outstanding analytical ability and very strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Ability to analyze data to identify areas where we are doing things well so we can perpetuate that success, and areas where we have gaps or weaknesses that require attention 
  • Must demonstrate the ability to come up with new, creative messaging that portrays our solutions as innovative and state-of-the-art, and not associated with legacy products offered in the past
  • Strategic thinker with the capacity to execute on a tactical level with a passion for success 
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects 
  • Knowledge and experience in successful inbound and social media marketing 
  • Professional team player with strong leadership, communications, and interpersonal skills 
  • BS/BA degree required; MBA preferred
