The Core team builds the technical foundation behind BMC Software’ flagship products. These are the essential building blocks for excellent, safe, and coherent experiences for our users and drive the pace of innovation for every developer. We look across BMC’s products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers and strengthen existing systems. As the Core team, we have a mandate and a unique opportunity to impact important technical decisions across the company.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional leads to develop a strategy that synthesizes, supports, inspires, and influences BMC.
  • Ensure product portfolio coherence throughout BMC’s product teams, partnering with cross-functional leadership in several product areas to ensure that we ship coherent products.
  • Create and convey a clear and compelling vision of the user experience required for and enabled by product coherence.
  • Use your passion and expertise in product, craft, and design to frame and guide the work produced by the User Experience team.
  • Mentor, lead, and support a team of senior designers and managers.

Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in design, human-computer interaction, or equivalent practical experience
  • 10 years of experience in UX Design or 8 years with an advanced degree
  • 4 years of experience managing or leading managers and design teams
  • Portfolio of UX-focused work samples

Preferred qualifications:
  • 12 years of professional experience
  • Experience influencing strategic cross-functional partnerships and building cross-organizational relationships
  • Experience in multiple design disciplines (UX, UI, design systems, prototyping) and prior work demonstrating a strong design process, clear insights, problem solving, and simple solutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to represent complex business or technical concepts
