BMC is seeking a passionate individual to serve as Director of Corporate Development. This role is a key member of the Corporate Development team and will be responsible for leading transactions through the full M&A life cycle.  This individual is expected to act as a trusted advisor to the executive leadership team.  We are looking for a leader who has proven experience in successfully doing M&A within a large corporation and who brings a good balance of strategic, technical, business and financial acumen. 

The Director, Corporate Development, will play an instrumental role in helping BMC execute on its strategy and long-term success.

Specific Responsibilities 

The Director Corporate Development will:
  • Partner with the CTO and CPO organizations to evaluate companies in target areas and build out BMCs M&A pipeline.
  • Lead deals through the full lifecycle, including initial evaluation, due diligence, negotiations and integration. 
  • Manage large deal teams, including external advisors.
  • Navigate the internal governance and approval process.
  • Actively contribute to best practices and the development and mentoring of junior talent.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of professional experience, and will have a successful track record of leading and managing M&A within a large technology company.

Specific experiences will include:
  • Strong strategic, analytical and financial skills with the ability to conceptualize recommendations for executive level audiences. 
  • Excellent communication skills are essential for this position.
  • Technology aptitude. Able to quickly understand technology concepts and connect the dots from a strategy perspective.
  • A strong focus on execution.  This individual must be strategic and creative, but strong execution capabilities are critical.

  • Strong innate leadership; must possess the presence and maturity to represent the CEO and Board of Directors.
  • Passionate and dynamic leader with the energy and ability to work effectively across a complex, global organization.
