We are recruiting a DevOps Engineer to join our SAAS Infrastructure team. You are responsible to lead, maintain and optimize all IT Infrastructure Operations components. In this role you are expected to support the implementation of business initiatives and ensure the readiness of the Infrastructure for Production and DR situation. As a senior contributor, you would be coordinating operations and technical projects to meet the established goals of the organization. Also ensuring to provide inputs for process enhancements, handling customer calls and mentoring the Team members.
You are expected to work from the assigned office location at a minimum of 3 days in week and be available in case of customer emergencies on call to ensure the least disruption for the customer from a service availability point of view.
About the Team:
BMC SAAS Operations is spread across multiple geographical locations, is responsible for operating, managing, and maintaining BMC’s organic cloud software and the infrastructure which is run across 24 Data Centers globally. Some of these Data Centers are run in partnership with public cloud providers like AWS, OCI and GCP. Some of these are self-owned Data Centers. On these Data Centers, BMC is running Service Operations and IT Operations related solutions. One of the key focus areas for SAAS Operations is to drive higher efficiency and effectiveness by bringing in more automated processes to deliver the various services and thus contribute to delivering a transcending customer experience.
Primary Roles and Responsibilities:
• As a key resource, you’ll work on to - Execute (24x7) SAAS Infrastructure Operations, including Routine operations and maintenance, Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, Crisis Management & Disaster Recovery across multiple technologies & teams to deliver high quality & stable services.
• OS Compliance and patching for Windows, Linux, and Virtualization Platforms.
• Support and maintain private and public cloud deployments.
• Handling critical infrastructure alerts.
• Build and provisioning of environments on Virtual infrastructure and public cloud.
• Provide Windows, Linux, FTP, Email, AD, AWS & Virtualization support.
• Contributing to automation via coding or exploring ideas during day-to-day task.
• Cross Functional coordination with other Teams like Customer Support, Database, Networking, and InfoSec.
• Contribute to audit and security related tasks that include routine reviews and reporting of technology policies and security compliance.
Knowledge/Skills/Attributes:
• Minimum of 4 - 6 years of experience in Cloud Technology and Infrastructure related areas, or a related field, IT operations, with a track record of success in leading technology infrastructure operations.
• You are either a DevOps or an SRE Engineer with real interest and experience in Linux systems, networking, monitoring and automation, containerization, cloud technologies etc. and a proven interest and experience in using software engineering to solve operational problems.
• Experience of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Docker, Git, Kubernetes and Ansible.
• Coding Experience with Terraform, Python, Shell Scripts etc.
• Experience with Agile development and methodologies and SaaS technologies and hands on experience of developing automations.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to analyze sophisticated technical issues and provide effective solutions in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Good communication skills, with the ability to optimally communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical partners.
• Should be willing to work in 24*7 rotational shifts.
Preferable:
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (such as AWS, OCI, GCP) and related technologies.
• Good understanding of networking, server infrastructure, databases, virtualization, and security concepts.
• Professional certifications related to K8s, AWS, OCI, GCP, IT operations, Automation Technologies or related field are a plus.
