BU Description:
Information Services and Technology (IS&T) provides all the required technology and operational support services to run the business in BMC. IS&T has around 300 plus servers on premises & in cloud to support production, Disaster recovery databases, applications and around 1000 plus servers in Lab environment. IST&T is transformational not only for BMC but also for the customer experience, it gives 360-degree view to the customer about the products they should know, opportunities in the pipeline, and any service issues outstanding with the customer.

Position Description: 
As an Oracle Database Administrator, you’ll primarily responsible for managing and administration of Oracle Databases (DB) on the Unix (Aix), Linux, Windows platform on Premises and in AWS cloud.
Experience in an enterprise OLTP and Data Warehouse environments
Understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices. 
Working technical experience with designing, building, installing, configuring, and supporting database 
Should have worked on aleast 1 System (RAC, data guard, GoldenGate, Streams and Replication) 
Hands-on database tuning and troubleshooting experience (partitioning, compression, indexing, statistics, and query optimizer) 
Knowledge of workload automation, Scripting, self-service, DevOps technique.
Good understanding of monitoring, archiving and backup & restore.

Primary Roles and Responsibilities:
Create models for new database development and/or changes to existing ones 
Install and configure database components and ensure access, consistency, and integrity 
Monitor all enterprise database environments and respond to resolve issues (such as data, access, performance, etc.) 
Monitor, optimize and allocate physical data storage for all database systems 
Develop, implement, and maintain change control and testing processes for database modifications 
Interface with Development and support application release deployments 
Provide end-user support for database related requests (reports, data, code changes etc.)
Establish appropriate end-user database access controls, best practices, and perform transaction and security audits 
Work closely with LAB team for software installation, configuration, troubleshooting.
Perform DB upgrade, DB refreshes, DB migration.
Provide DB support to Different projects based on requirement.
Continuous improvement of DB services by providing automation, self-service using shell/Python scripting.
Maintain internal documentation systems, runbooks & architectural diagrams.

Experience/ Qualifications:
Educational Qualification-BE/MCA (Any Stream).
Around 2 to 3 years of experience in Database Administration
Should have hands-on experience into Shell scripting.
Ready to work in rotational shifts (no night shift), weekend on-call support
Knowledge on BMC tools like Control-M, Remedy would be an advantage
