We are the BMC-Operations Analytics & Data Science team, a highly functional, growing, business & outcome-focused team that enables business groups within BMC to make better decisions centered around our Customers. Through our analysis, applications, and insights, we empower our users with insight, while supporting and leading strategic initiatives across our entire organization.

And teamwork makes it happen!  We are looking for a talented, disciplined, results-driven, and forward-looking leader with data science (analytics, statistics, and ML/AI), data architecture acumen and seamless people skills connecting various stakeholders and audiences around a common vision & strategy

The Role: 

You will play a key role within our Analytics & Data Science and lead a team of superstars focused on: 

·       Working across the business (Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, Product R&D, etc.) to ensure alignment and delivery of insights across the customer journey

·       Partnering with key stakeholders to identify and deliver a roadmap of high impact data science solutions

·       Developing models to drive our Marketing funnel, Pipeline, Forecasting, GTM effectiveness, Customer Retention & Win/Loss Insights

·       Delivering touch, ROI, and impact analysis to measure our Customer’s experience across their BMC engagement

·       Translating data science insights into actions and improvements, and be comfortable with Executives, Peers and individual contributors

·       Designing and leading the BMC Operations and Analytics team data architecture platform, developing roadmaps and execute projects to simply, streamline and implement a ‘best in class’ environment

·       Managing and leading projects collaboratively with other Analytics, Operations, Business Finance and IT teammates

·       Leading and coaching your team to enable them to grow and develop 

Skills and Experience


·       Data Engineering/Analytics/Data Science leadership experience, supporting some of the following areas: Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, Revenue Operations, Finance, with experience of leading 5+ people

·       Puts people & team first: leads by example with strong emphasis on development, coaching, mentoring, etc.

·       Strategic thinker with an ability to develop, manage and deliver on roadmaps

·       Experience leading and managing transformation, with demonstrable results in enabling change, innovation and delivering business outcomes

·       Demonstrable results in terms of driving innovation, actionable insights and value from data science use cases. You will have delivered solutions spanning the Customer Journey, in areas such as Account Segmentation, Marketing ROI, Multi-Touch Attribution, Customer Churn, Deal Probability, Forecasting, Recommendation Engines

·       Strong communicator at all levels, from Executive to Individual Contributor, with an ability to translate data science jargon into simple business language and “so-what”

·       Evangelize the impact on the business of data science and machine learning techniques

·       Good at building partnerships and cross-functional collaboration, with an ability to manage conflict in a positive way

·       Comfortable working in a global, matrixed organization

·       Relentless collaborator, connector and learner

·       Strong bias towards action and failing fast

·       Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities

·       Passionate about data science, data literacy data quality and consistency and

·       Experience in developing data science solutions and operationalizing at scale

·       Technically savvy on Data Management, BI, and Data Science tools, and a strong perspective on best in class

Nice to have:

·       SaaS Software industry experience business preferable

·       Experience with Analytics Governance, and Data Literacy in a large complex enterprise


•Bachelor’s Degree in a Quantitative Field (Statistics, Econometrics, Management Sciences, Market Research, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Analytics, etc.) – Advanced degree preferred

•Strong on Data platforms and tools, e.g. Snowflake, SQL, AWS, S3, Python, R, Alteryx, Databricks etc.

•Knowledge of CRM (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.) and Marketing Automation Tools (Eloqua, Marketo, etc.)

•Core analytics visualization tools (Tableau, MicroStrategy, Tableau CRM, etc.)

•Advanced Excel and PowerPoint knowledge
