Mainframe ISPW Consultant - USA

BMC Mainframe Services (BMS) has an exciting opportunity to grow our team in the US with the opening for a Senior ISPW Consultant.  We are forecasting BMS to be the largest Services unit within BMC and are looking for the right people to help develop and grow our US based practice.

The ideal candidate can be located anywhere in the mainland USA and must be available to travel when necessary.

Job Description:

As an experienced mainframe ISPW Consultant, you will be part of a team that has been acknowledged as an industry leader. You will help our clients grow their business by providing install, configuration, and conversion work for the BMC ISPW source code management product.

Primary Roles and Responsibilities:

• Works interactively with all project staff, both BMC internal and Customer.
• Performs and coordinates the Install, Configuration, Migration and Implementation activities of BMC ISPW Change Management Software.
• Contributes to Customer ready design documentation to support all Functional requirements, Technical Solution Design, Test Strategy and Deployment Plans
• Advises on updates to the Project or Service Schedule to the Project Manager, Practice Lead or Service Delivery Manager
• Recognizes customer requests that fall outside scope of the SOW or any new opportunities and brings it to the attention of the Project Manager/Practice Lead for further review.
• Successfully moves Customer into production on the target BMC solution, transitioning the project to closure with both the customer and BMC teams.

Mandatory Experience:

• 4+ relevant years mainframe technical experience as a z/OS Systems Programmer:
• 3+ years working in Services or projects, preferably Customer facing in a professional consultative capacity
• 4+ years working as Source Code Management administrator
• 3+ years experience in z/OS Operating System and Program Product installs, SYSPLEX, system configurations, upgrades, user mods/exits, in large complex environments. Strong experience with SMP/e, testing and deployment strategies, problem determination and resolution.
• Consultative skills with customers, contractors when driving deliverables and setting priorities
• A self-starter, willing to work without a net with a proven ability to meet assigned timelines with high quality, complete deliverables in unsupervised, often remote, situations.
• Willingness to mentor, share ideas and knowledge with other colleagues promoting best practices.
• Demonstrated success in building key relationships in the past with Sales, Technical Support, Application Teams and Product Engineering.

Desirable Experience:

• Mainframe Source Code Management expertise as administrator, specifically BMC ISPW software.
• Strong experience with install and configuration of software products, BMC, IBM, Micro Focus and CA-Broadcom SCM products
• Strong experience in TSO, ISPF, JCL, REXX, CLIST
