BU Description:
The performance team, evaluates the performance of all the BMC products.The evaluation includes understanding the non-functional requirements from business, analyzing the critical business scenarios, developing test automation, execute performance test and analyze the results to identify the performance issues across all the tiers e.g. client, server/microservices and DB tier, analyze the issues, provide recommendations to development team and work with the development team to get the issues fixed. The performance team is also responsible for the sizing/capacity planning of the BMC products.

Position Description: 
Associate Product Developer (probably for outside world “Jr. Performance Engineer”)

  • The candidate is expected to work on BMC products and should have fair Performance Testing Experience. 
  • Responsible for scripting and performance testing of various components of a flagship BMC products, developed in Java/J2EE.
  • Along with performance testing, he/she will also be responsible to test critical customer escalations and provide timely help in analysing / diagnosing the performance issues. 
  • The candidate is also expected to provide technical help/expertise to field engineers, technicians, product support and customers who are troubleshooting, repairing and debugging complex systems and/or software.
Primary Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Hands-on experience on any Performance Testing tools like Silk Performer, JMeter, Load Runner. 
  • Hands-on experience with designing Performance test scenarios , preparing test scripts & carrying out test execution using performance testing tools.
  • Expert on at least one operating systems (UNIX/Linux or Windows). Expertise in Linux is a plus.
  • Exposure to Cloud, docker/container  based technologies is a plus. 
  • Participates in Performance Testing activities and should be able to perform performance data analysis, triage performance issues. 
  • A team member who is passionate about quality and demonstrate creativity and innovation in enhancing the product, with excellent problem solving, debugging, analytical and communication skills.
  • Ability to quickly learn new BMC products and technologies as required for a successful release delivery.
  • Critiques the initial problem analysis and ensures that all data necessary for problem resolution is available in a timely manner.
