Our IS&T (Information Services and Technology) department provides all the required technology and operational support services to run our business here in BMC! We have over 200 servers on premises to support production, disaster recovery, databases, applications and over 1000 servers in Lab environment. IS&T is transformational not only for BMC but also for the customer experience, because we give a 360 degrees view to the customer about the products they should know, opportunities in the pipeline, and any service issues outstanding with the customer. We use cutting-edge technologies to manage BMC's infrastructure and showcase it to the customers – program is called BMC on BMC!
BMC is looking for a System Administrator to join our amazing team! 

In this role, you will be a part of a team of system administrators, responsible for providing Linux/Unix, AWS, Kubernetes, Docker & Virtualization support on VMware & Cloud technology. You will maintain and support all OS platform, on Private cloud deployment. 

Here is how, through this exciting role, YOU will contribute to BMC's and your own success: 

  • Respond to and resolve all customer inquiries (via phone, e-mail and web)
  • Maintain high level of customer satisfaction
  • Maintain clear and concise ticket documentation with all required data and fields
  • Escalate service requests and issues appropriately
  • Exercise independent thought within defined procedures and practices
  • Manage priorities and act on factors that create priorities
  • Generate Knowledge Base entries
  • Comfortable working in rotational shifts.
  • Remote trouble shooting ability Strong verbal and written communication skills are required for interaction with a global team.
Required Skills-

  • Provide Virtualization Support for Linux, Unix and VMware
  • OS Compliance troubleshoot and patching for Red hat, Cent-OS, Ubuntu and other Linux / Unix Flavors
  • Support and maintain private and public cloud deployment on VM ware environment.
  • Build maintain servers on multiple Linux Flavors.
  • Hands-On experience with VMware Virtualization and Virtual center
Nice to have -
  • Strong Knowledge & Experience on LINUX OS patching, VMware Virtualization and Virtual center.
  • Working knowledge on any CRM tool (Remedy, Snow, other)
  • Work independently with minimal supervision, normally receiving minimal instruction on day-to-work activities.
  • Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires thorough evaluation.
  • Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
  • Assess and communicate risks based on complexity, resource and timeline constraints.
  • Ability to work in cross functional teams and influence the outcome.
  • Any Graduate.
  • ITIL, RHCE, AWS, VMWARE, Certification is an added advantage.
