About the role


The BMC Digital Business Automation Graduate Consultant will ultimately be responsible for implementing BMC solutions at customer sites and developing/evolving best practices for delivery of BMC Digital Business Automation Solutions.


This will be an extremely varied and challenging role which will give you a great chance to develop both your technical and client facing skills. Throughout your initial year with us, we will help you succeed by:

In this role you will be focused on our Control M solution, the Gartner leader for Workload Automation. Control-M simplifies application and data workflow orchestration on premises or as a service. It makes it easy to build, define, schedule, manage, and monitor production workflows, ensuring visibility, reliability, and improving SLAs.


Responsibilities


When fully trained, some of the responsibilities that you will have as a consultant are:

  • Responsible for participating in small teams comprised of BMC, partner and customer resources at client sites to deliver required outcomes and produce additional business with BMC clients.
  • Understand how to apply technology to improve the operational effectiveness or efficiency of specific IT functions or applications.
  • Understand enterprise scale, integrated applications from a process/business perspective
  • Implement, customize, and configure BMC products as part of a defined BMC Route to Value.
  • Integrate BMC products to each other and third-party applications.
  • Improve the quality and efficiency of the solutions delivered to BMC clients as a means to improve BMC business margins.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of programming/scripting – Shell scripting, Batch programming, Python, Java, HTML, C, C++, Regina REXX, etc.
  • Good skills in Solution Design and Time Management
  • Understanding of databases – Oracle / SQL Server
  • Understanding of Operating systems – Linux, Unix, Windows OR z/OS (Mainframe).
  • Very strong communication skills (both verbal and nonverbal) with fluency in English. 


Nice to have skills

  • Any mainframe experience or knowledge of z/OS, JCL, Cobol, TSO, ISPF, REXX etc.
  • Any prior experience with SaaS applications.
  • Understanding of different software development methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, etc.)
  • Understanding of project management methodology
  • Knowledge of BMC Workload Automation solutions (Control-M, MFT)
