Area Vice President – Solution Engineering – APJ


Following a record-breaking fiscal year and the transformation of our International region (APJ + EMEA), we are currently hiring for an Area Vice President for our Solution Engineering/Presales team across APJ.

Location for this role is flexible and can be based out of Singapore or Australia.

You will be responsible for defining, building, and leading the Presales and Value Engineering teams across the region. A proven leader with excellent communication skills, effective and successful leadership, and the passion to pursue career goals is critical to this role.


Key responsibilities:


• Be a respected leader in the company and industry. Establish a strong collaborative culture with peers and other functions within BMC. Promote a culture of success, innovation, performance, empowerment, creativity as well as diversity, equity & inclusivity.

• Create a Vision and an execution Plan with the Leadership team that drives belief and action

 • Represent BMC in public events, customer meetings and analyst relationships

 • Be one of the top speakers in the company and coach Presales Manager to follow the example

 • Lead the professional and technical development of your team members, maximizing team productivity and career development by understanding your team’s skill levels, working styles, motivations, and professional goals, and serving as a coach and mentor. Solidify succession plans and enhance management capabilities to meet strategic and operating objectives

 • Promote top quality Recruiting, Onboarding, Development, Performance Management process to continuously take the organization to the next level

 • Being Proactive in developing a retention strategy for your team members

 • Act as a mentor to develop and coach top performing Solution Engineers

 • Lead by example with the highest integrity and ethics

• Understand BMC’s vision and strategy and identify and execute change and operational initiatives to support it

 • Understand Business qualification and Forecasting to be a sound partner for sales leadership

 • Align to top accounts and opportunities and play as Executive sponsor, fostering a network of champions

 • Align the Presales organization to proactively lead the sales process, with quality technical and value activities and deliverables

 • Interface with Sales, R&D, Business Units and other business partners and be a voice of reason representing customer’s value and interest for the long term

 • Drive customer engagement and sales process in support of exceptional quarterly and annual sales achievement.


What We Seek:


• 10+ years of equivalent experience as Presales leader in a large software enterprise, ideally with a deep functional knowledge of customer success

 • Proven history of retaining, developing, motivating, and mentoring highly effective teams

 • Exceptional relationship building, collaboration and team development skills

 • Passion and experience for identifying business improvement opportunities and driving organizational change

 • Strong problem-solving skills with ability to analyse data, determine insights and develop programs to drive performance improvement
