Reporting to the Senior Director of Accounting, the Staff  Accountant will be primarily responsible for performing activities around the third-party royalty process and the accounting associated with those royalties. 

What you get to do every day:
•Review third party contracts to determine appropriate application of accounting rules to the contract terms and documents. 
•Interact with multiple departments including Legal, Business Development team, and Product Managers to understand product changes, third party software usage and royalty impacts.
•Reconcile month-end general ledger account balances to various sub-ledgers and resolves any variances.
•Analyze customer invoice data and performs calculations and reconciliations of monthly royalty accruals and prepares the associated journal entries.
•Prepare monthly royalty partner statements and processes associated payment invoices.  
•Analyze quarterly royalty balance sheet and income statement accounts and prepares variance analysis data for management.
•Partner with Financial Analysts to provide needed information for budgeting and forecasting.
•Resolve royalty related issues and inquiries in a timely manner.
•Participate in the monthly and quarterly close processes, SOX requirements and audit reviews.
•Tests and coordinates changes and upgrades to the various databases and systems with IS&T and assists in determining new methods to automate and improve processes.

Experience/Knowledge
•Bachelor’s degree required in Finance or Accounting. 
•Advanced Excel skills required.  Familiarity with Oracle, OneStream, Micro Strategy a plus.
•Possess a strong understanding of financial principles and accounting/budgeting practice.

•Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with a strong commitment to customer service excellence.
•Strong analytical skills and an ability to perform complex calculations while understanding the accounting implications of a large volume of transactions. 
•Be able to work flexibly within a fast-paced environment, under pressure and within strict deadlines.
