As the Assistant Vice President of Order Management, you will report to the VP – Revenue Office and be responsible for leading the Order Management team. The visionary leader in this newly created role will bring their leadership experience managing operations and driving transformation to lead a team of 130+ in one of the most exciting times at BMC’s forty-year company history. 

Working closely with the Sales GTM teams, Finance and Revenue Recognition, the AVP of Order Management will own all aspects of quote to cash and order management. 

The success of this team is a critical part of BMC’s overall success.
 
Specific Responsibilities
  • Manage all aspects of the quote to cash process for BMC.
  • Lead change from existing tools and processes to a more modern platform for order to cash.
  • Implement and execute changes to the processes and systems in Order Management.
  • Manage overall global team of 136 employees, with 4 Director level direct reports.
  • Work with cross functional leaders in sales, finance and revenue recognition.
  • Plan and implement operating model changes in order management, order services, systems, communication, and people.
  • Focus on customer experience.
  • Promotes a culture of autonomy, transparency, and teamwork, while remaining customer focus.  Guides and mentors team members positioning them for growth and advancement.
  • Establishes close working relationships with direct reports, colleagues, customers, and partners. Leads through influence.
  • Adept at analyzing complex systems and identifying novel, innovative approaches to solving difficult problems. 
  • Completes projects and tasks on time, on target, and on budget. Exhibits responsiveness and willingness to “go the extra mile” to achieve important goals.
  • Maintains calmness and composure in the face of intense workloads and time pressures. Adheres to workplace procedures and policies in an ethical fashion. 
  • Supports business and financial analysis to aid in decision making and provide insights that inform business strategies.
  • Communicate and present to Executive Leadership team.

Qualifications & Experience

The ideal candidate will have 15+ years of professional experience and will have a successful track record of leading and managing complex order to cash operations at a global enterprise.  

Key to success in this role will be a knowledge of order management, order services, quote to cash systems, a vision for the future, and the ability to get things done. Experience leading large operations teams, driving cross functional systems upgrades and resolving conflict, understanding of what drives business performance, and an ability to push change while still giving customers a top-notch customer experience is a must. A background in leading operations, order management and special projects is required.

  • Experience successfully leading the transformation of processes and systems upgrades from Oracle Financing is ideal.
  • Minimum of 5 years leadership experience in a large enterprise.
  • Experience with both order management and order services is preferred.
  • BS/BA degree required. MBA degree preferred.
  • A strong focus on execution.  This individual must be strategic and creative but strong execution capabilities are critical for success.  Success will be judged on what is accomplished and delivered not what is proposed.
  • Strategic analytical skills, excellent communication, presentation creation, and writing skills will be necessary.  The ability and desire to work effectively in a global, matrix organization, and persuade people with passion and influence is essential. 
  • Data driven approach to decision making and measurement.
