Join us as an AVP of Product Finance!

As a finance AVP at BMC, you will report directly to the Finance leadership team to support the internal finance team focused on supporting our Chief Product Officer and our global Product organization worldwide. You will serve as a trusted finance advisor to the business group and have responsibility for guiding business stakeholders in managing their P&L and Balance Sheet, all aspects of financial planning – Long Range Planning, Budget, Forecasting – along with performing complex and interpretive ad-hoc analysis related to transformational initiatives for assigned BMC Product finance area. This exciting role is part of a very collaborative group, where people are willing to step out of their roles to help others. 

Here is how, through this exciting role, YOU will contribute to BMC's and your own success: 
  • You will be the primary business advisor and partner for the worldwide Product organization regarding accounting, finance, and business-impacting decisions. This will involve the ability to assess needs and identify risks and opportunities, helping business partners understand the financial impact of their business decisions with accompanying analytics.  This position provides dotted-line access to the Chief Product Officer of BMC, and each of his/her direct reports.
  • Partner with CPO and corporate Finance on business strategy.
  • Assist with ad-hoc analysis and data mining efforts and provide comprehensive financial analysis and models for requests depending on the assigned department (such as customer analyses, competitive analyses, investments, and new items). 
  • You get to lead multiple finance wide-project across several different financial disciplines including Corporate & BU FP&A, operations, marketing, and pricing.
  • Drive the preparation and compilation of the annual operating plan (AOP) and strategic plan for regional customers.
  • Lead the development of metrics, scorecards and reporting for assigned department and report and communicate progress monthly.
  • You will support forecasting, budgeting, and quarterly reporting cycles with automated and standardized executive packages.
  • You have the opportunity to recommend and implement process improvements using technical solutions. Communication of results and recommendations to management and the business, including executive finance team.
  • Partner with CPO, Corporate Finance and Operations to develop scalable and more efficient financial processes that support a growing business.

To ensure you are set up for success, you will bring the following skillset & experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree required, Finance or Accounting concentration preferred, MBA a plus.
  • 15+ years of experience within an enterprise SaaS/Software organization, preferably in Product/Operations finance.
  • Ability to build partnerships with internal customers and peers and to manage those relationships.
  • Experience in P&L management, along with knowledge of financial systems, general accounting concepts, and controls. 
  • Experience working across multiple departments to complete a project or resolve an organizational challenge.
  • Possess strong communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of financial principles and accounting/budgeting practice.
  • Understanding of business intelligence and financial planning software.
  • Understanding of core finance business processes to ensure timely delivery of financial results including Quarterly Business Reviews, close process, SOX controls, and Audit.
  • Experience with Oracle, One-Stream, Tableau, or other software tools preferred.

The annual base salary range represents the low and high end of the BMC salary range for this position. Actual salaries depend on a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training, licensure, and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. 

The range listed is just one component of BMC's employee compensation package. Other rewards may include a variable plan and country specific benefits.

At BMC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at /near the top of the range. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $201,000 - $335,000
