As an R&D Project Manager III for the Quality Initiatives program at BMC, you will lead the planning, execution, and governance of strategic quality programs across product engineering teams. You will work closely with R&D, QA, and cross-functional stakeholders to drive quality transformation, standardization, and continuous improvement. This role combines strong project/program management expertise with deep knowledge of Quality Engineering and a growing focus on AI-driven quality practices.

• Serve as a key member of the Central Quality team, driving quality assessment across multiple R&D product lines.
• Lead end-to-end project/program management for quality initiatives, including planning, execution, risk management, and reporting.
• Drive the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of Quality Management Systems (QMS).
• Conduct and govern Quality Plan and Quality Assurance reviews to ensure compliance with organizational standards.
• Partner with R&D, Product, and Support teams to collect, analyze, and derive insights from quality metrics and data.
• Define, standardize, and enhance quality policies, procedures, and best practices across the organization.
• Enable and improve development processes aligned with DevOps and CI/CD, including test automation and tooling strategy.
• Present data-driven insights, trends, and recommendations to leadership for informed decision-making.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on product quality, release efficiency, and customer experience.
• Mentor teams and influence adoption of quality frameworks, tools, and governance models.
AI & Automation Expectations :
• Drive adoption of AI/ML-driven solutions to enhance Quality Engineering, including intelligent test automation, defect prediction, and risk-based testing.
• Leverage data analytics and AI insights to proactively identify quality gaps and optimization opportunities.
• Promote modern testing approaches such as self-healing automation, predictive analytics, and anomaly detection.
• Collaborate with R&D teams to embed AI-enabled quality practices within CI/CD pipelines.
• Stay current with advancements in AI for software quality and recommend scalable, innovative solutions.
To ensure you’re set up for success, you will bring the following skillset & experience:
• Bachelor’s degree (BE/BTech) in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in Software Quality Engineering, QA, or Project/Program Management within R&D organizations.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, release cycles, and product engineering processes.
• Proven experience in Quality Management Systems (QMS) design, implementation, and governance.
• Experience conducting Quality Plans and QA reviews across complex product portfolios.
• Strong analytical and data interpretation skills with experience in quality metrics and reporting.
• Hands-on experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and test automation ecosystems.
• Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional programs and influence senior stakeholders.
• Working knowledge of AI/ML concepts and their application in Quality Engineering.

At BMC we believe in pay transparency and have set the midpoint of the salary band for this role at 2,841,000 INR. Actual salaries depend on a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training, licensure, and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
