Our IS&T (Information Services and Technology) department provides all the required technology and operational support services to run our business here in BMC! We have over 200 servers on premises to support production, disaster recovery, databases, applications and over 1000 servers in Lab environment. IS&T is transformational not only for BMC but also for the customer experience, because we give a 360 degrees view to the customer about the products they should know, opportunities in the pipeline, and any service issues outstanding with the customer. We use cutting-edge technologies to manage BMC's infrastructure and showcase it to the customers – program is called BMC on BMC!

BMC is looking for a Platform System Administrator to join our amazing team!  Here at BMC Software, we offer a true 24/7 IT support offering to all our end-users. The Level-1 team handle all initial enquiries, any issues which they cannot resolve will be escalated to our Level-2 support teams across the globe. If the issue cannot be resolved and needs local support, it will be escalated to Level-3 (local) support. This role will sit with our Level-3 (local) support team based in Houston, Texas. 


*This is an office-based role where it is important to collaborate and work with your colleagues in the Houston office.



Here is how, through this exciting role, YOU will contribute to BMC's and your own success:

  • Provide comprehensive IT support to end-users across the United States, Canada, and South America.
  • Confidently work with a diverse range of IT hardware, including laptops, desktops, mobile devices, tablets, and Apple Mac computers.
  • Efficiently image and configure Windows and Mac devices for seamless deployment.
  • Utilize expertise in Windows 11, macOS, Office 365, McAfee, BitLocker, encryption technologies, and various enterprise tools, including Active Directory, JAMF, CrowdStrike, Beyond Identity, Commvault, and Zoom.
  • Support unified communications platforms, including video conferencing systems and VoIP solutions.
  • Manage IT assets, facilitating efficient recovery and tracking of old equipment.
  • Handle incoming requests for mobile device orders, coordinating with regional carriers through BMC.



To ensure you’re set up for success, you will bring the following skillset & experience: 

  • 3+ years of remote IT support experience, with a strong background in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
  • Proven ability to support both Windows and Mac environments, including imaging and scripting for efficient deployment.
  • Experience with MDM solutions and mobile device management platforms like AirWatch.
  • Skilled in IT asset tracking and lifecycle management, ensuring proper inventory control and recycling processes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to provide creative, out-of-the-box solutions.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure end-user situations with professionalism and a customer-focused mindset.

The annual base salary range represents the low and high end of the BMC salary range for this position. Actual salaries depend on a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training, licensure, and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. 

The range listed is just one component of BMC's employee compensation package. Other rewards may include a variable plan and country specific benefits.

At BMC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at /near the top of the range. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $75,975 - $126,625
