The Manager of Product Design defines and drives design strategies across multiple projects or product lines, guiding teams to deliver user-centered, accessible, and innovative solutions. This hybrid role blends UX leadership with people management, shaping product direction, fostering team growth, streamlining design operations, and aligning business goals with user needs.



Here is how, through this exciting role, YOU will contribute to BMC's and your own success:

  • Define and execute the design vision across multiple initiatives.
  • Align design strategy with product and business objectives.
  • Champion design excellence at the executive level.
  • Mentor and manage product designers, supporting career growth and skill development.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide actionable feedback.
  • Optimize workflows, tools, and processes for consistency and efficiency.
  • Ensure effective resource allocation across projects.
  • Oversee design documentation standards and drive adoption of design systems.
  • Define research goals and integrate insights into product development.
  • Guide teams in applying research findings to design decisions.
  • Lead ideation sessions and design thinking workshops.
  • Influence prioritization of design initiatives based on impact.
  • Leverage Gen AI technologies to enhance user experiences.
  • Ensure designs meet brand, accessibility, and usability standards; conduct UX-QA.
  • Craft visionary experience journeys to inform long-term product strategy.
  • Build strong cross-functional partnerships with Product, Engineering, and Marketing.
  • Communicate design rationale and value to non-design stakeholders.

To ensure you’re set up for success, you will bring the following skillset & experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Fine Arts, HCI, Graphic Design, or related field.
  • 10+ years of product design experience, including 2+ years in a leadership role.
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire design teams in fast-paced environments.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing user-centered design across platforms.
  • Experience managing design operations and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Expertise in design tools, prototyping, and usability testing.
  • Deep understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive design.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.

The annual base salary range represents the low and high end of the BMC salary range for this position. Actual salaries depend on a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training, licensure, and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. 

The range listed is just one component of BMC's employee compensation package. Other rewards may include a variable plan and country specific benefits.

At BMC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at /near the top of the range. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $148,800 - $248,000
