- Provide legal support for US public sector transactions, ensuring alignment with procurement laws and regulations, including FAR, DFARS, and GSA requirements
- Draft and negotiate a broad range of product, licensing, subscription, confidentiality, data privacy, services, distributor, partner and reseller agreements
- Advise on US government contracting best practices and stay current on regulatory developments, including flow-down clauses, compliance obligations, and risk mitigation strategies
- Drive continuous improvement of standard form agreements, policies, and legal processes
- Assist with due diligence and integration activities for acquisitions.
- Support the organization through Sales cycles, including quarter-end and year-end priorities
- Work independently while managing priorities and collaborating effectively with cross-functional stakeholders at all levels, including senior management
- Law degree (LL.B. or equivalent)
- Active license to practice law in good standing in at least one US / Canadian jurisdiction
- 5+ years of experience as a Legal Counsel or a similar in-house role
- Experience in a software / tech company, representing the seller-side in drafting and negotiating agreements
- Experience with US Federal contracting, including deep knowledge of procurement laws and regulations (FAR, DFARS, GSA), as well as flow-down requirements and compliance obligations
- Solid understanding of the software sales cycle, including supporting commercial processes and deadlines.
- Customer-focused mindset, with the ability to build strong relationships across cross-functional teams and global regions/time zones
- Ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while remaining independent, flexible, and responsive to stakeholders
- US / Canadian Data Privacy certification (CIPP/US or CIPP/C)
- Familiarity with US Anti-trust law.
- Advanced Law Degree (LL.M.)

The annual base salary range represents the low and high end of the BMC salary range for this position. Actual salaries depend on a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training, licensure, and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
The range listed is just one component of BMC's employee compensation package. Other rewards may include a variable plan and country specific benefits.
At BMC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at /near the top of the range. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $114,525 - $190,875
