You will be part of the team that builds disaster recovery strategy for BMC Helix in AWS
Ensure that disaster recovery plan is aligned to RPO/RTO
Provide support to deployment team, and lead disaster recovery implementation, testing and failover
Monitor and assess current backup systems and recommend enhancements
Coordinate, facilitate and provide detailed direction for all disaster recovery testing activities
Perform data center recovery capacity planning in support of specific current, planned and new initiatives.
Manage storage infrastructure and services consisting of a mixture of enterprise appliances, networks, and open source technologies.
Implement and support scale out storage (Ceph, Gluster, S3, Glacier, etc) as well as contribute to design and planning
Work with your peers on datacenter projects and new initiatives
Availability to be on-call to respond to issues or problems that arise during non-business hours, including working off-hours to support disaster recovery test activities, required.
Ability to pass and obtain a US Security Clearance
Working knowledge of AWS and/or Azure, or experience building High-Availability infrastructure
Understanding of storage protocols including NFS, SMB, SCSI-3, NVMe, S3.
A deep understanding of Linux systems, in the context of storage, as well as general system tuning and administration
Understanding of incident handling and change control process
Ability to articulate and document implemented changes (or changes for someone else to implement)
Good understanding of security and security practices
Good troubleshooting skills
Calm under pressure
If you know about the following it’s a plus
Amazon Web Services scripting
Experience with server virtualization and/or container platforms such as VMware, Docker, or OpenShift (Kubernetes).
Experience with services from public cloud providers like AWS, Azure, and GCP in hybrid storage environments—some data on-premise, some data in public cloud (S3, GCS, Glacier, etc.)
Experience with Ansible, salt, or PowerShell for automated deployments and configuration management.
