Our IS&T (Information Services and Technology) department provides all the required technology and operational support services to run our business here in BMC! We have over 1200 servers on premises to support production, disaster recovery, databases, applications and over 4000 servers in the Lab environment. IS&T is transformational not only for BMC but also for customer experience, because we give a 360-degree view to the customer a program called BMC on BMC.
BMC is looking for a passionate technologist to join our amazing global Corporate Cybersecurity team! We are a tight-knit team that operates on a global support model. We prioritize attitude, curiosity, and engineering fundamentals over a checklist of security certifications. If you have strong knowledge in Development, System Administration, or Networking and a genuine interest in pivoting into or deepening your career in Security—we want to meet you.

BMC is looking for an Experienced Information Security Engineer to join our amazing global Corporate Cybersecurity team! 

In this role, you will build out, maintain, and troubleshoot our information security systems, while supporting internal customers. You will have the opportunity to learn multiple tools and technologies across multiple security domains. ● Autonomy & Solutions: Beyond completing tasks, you will help shape technical solutions and see problems through from discovery to resolution.
● Practical Application: You will apply your understanding of systems, networks, and applications to real-world security scenarios, identifying issues under evolving threat conditions.
● Build & Maintain: You will deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot security systems while supporting internal customers with care and diligence.
● Innovate: You will help build custom use cases, alerts, signatures, and parsers—focusing on the “why” and “how,” not only the ticket.
● Collaborate: You will contribute within a high-trust, low-politics environment, working closely with peers to solve complex challenges.

To ensure you’re set up for success, you will bring the following skillset & experience:
● The Right Mindset: You are a continuous learner who takes initiative and sees things through. You are solution-oriented and comfortable identifying gaps and addressing them proactively.
● Strong Technical Foundation: You should have solid hands-on knowledge in one of the following areas:
    ○ Development: Practical coding/scripting experience and understanding of application architecture.
    ○ System Administration: Strong working knowledge of Windows or Unix/Linux internals.
    ○ Networking: Clear understanding of core protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, SSH, SMB) and routing principles.
● Practical Agility: Ability to apply conceptual understanding to hands-on scenarios.
● Problem Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to step back and assess the broader context.
● Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate across global teams and support internal stakeholders.

Whilst these are nice to have, our team can help you develop in the following skills:
● Experience with tools like Crowdstrike, EDR, or IPS.
● Exposure to SIEM technologies, threat hunting, malware analysis, or pen-testing tools.
● Experience in Security Operations, documentation, and drafting security specifications.
● Bachelor’s degree or equivalent security/technology-related course.

At BMC we believe in pay transparency and have set the midpoint of the salary band for this role at 2,117,800 INR. Actual salaries depend on a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training, licensure, and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. 

The salary listed is just one component of BMC's employee compensation package. Other rewards may include a variable plan and country specific benefits.
