Our IS&T (Information Services and Technology) department provides all the required technology and operational support services to run our business here in BMC! We have over 200 servers on premises to support production, disaster recovery, databases, applications and over 1000 servers in Lab environment. IS&T is transformational not only for BMC but also for the customer experience, because we give a 360 degrees view to the customer about the products they should know, opportunities in the pipeline, and any service issues outstanding with the customer. We use cutting-edge technologies to manage BMC's infrastructure and showcase it to the customers – program is called BMC on BMC!

Here is how, through this exciting role, YOU will contribute to BMC's and your own success:

  • Manage and maintain backup infrastructure and systems across hybrid cloud
  • Ensure backup job run to schedule and retention requirement meet standards defined
  • Perform restore operations as required, meet compliance requirement. 
  • Working experience in Win2019, Win2022, Linux and/or Solaris platform.
  • Work with Change & Incident Management Tools.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required for interaction with a global team.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision, normally receiving minimal instruction on day-to-work activities.
  • Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires thorough evaluation.
  • Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. 
  • Use skills and experience to identify and resolve a wide range of issues in practical and imaginative ways.
  • Participate in disaster, cyber recovery exercises and devise data protection strategies in accordance
  • Assess and communicate risks based on complexity, resource and timeline constraints.
  • Ability to work in cross functional teams and influence the outcome.
  • Evaluation and architecture of solutions for evolving business needs & technology refresh cycles. 
  • Should be willing to work in rotational shifts (24/7 Support model) - Shift timings: 6.30 AM to 3.30 PM, 12.30 PM to 9.30 PM & 3.30 PM to 12.30 AM. OnCall support during off hours and Weekends


To ensure you’re set up for success, you will bring the following skillset & experience: 

  • EXPERIENCE: Typically requires a minimum of 6-8 years of Data Protection experience
  • Strong knowledge of Dell EMC Avamar, Networker, Power Protect Data Manager and Data Domain and/or Dell EMC Integrated Data Protection Appliance or Equivalents
  • Data Domain, Dell EMC Avamar and/or Networker Certification is an added advantage
  • AWS Public Cloud Backups – Vault Creation, Policy & Tags
  • KNOWLEDGE: Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices and company policies and procedures; resolves a wide range of issues in imaginative as well as practical ways. This job is the fully qualified, career-oriented, journey-level position.
  • JOB COMPLEXITY: Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Interacts with senior internal and external personnel.
  • SUPERVISION: Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments.

At BMC we believe in pay transparency and have set the midpoint of the salary band for this role at 2,790,000 INR. Actual salaries depend on a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training, licensure, and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. 

The salary listed is just one component of BMC's employee compensation package. Other rewards may include a variable plan and country specific benefits.
