BMC AMI Change Manager for Db2 enables the DBA to effectively deal with the demands of a constantly changing environment involving multiple Db2 subsystems. Change Manager provides a powerful solution to the problems of managing a Db2 environment.
By automating and simplifying the change process, Change Manager enables you to deal effectively with the demands of a constantly changing Db2 environment. Change Manager uses an Interactive System Productivity Facility (ISPF) interface.
Change Manager enables you to automate the following common tasks:

•Create, modify, and drop data structures within a Db2 subsystem
•Create new data structures by using existing data structures as templates
•Determine the dependencies on changed objects and preserve those dependencies and their associated data
•Migrate data structures and data within a subsystem or from one Db2 subsystem to another subsystem
•Analyze the impact of changes by validating the changes against the Db2 catalog 
•Migrates data structure changes across multiple databases and subsystems
•Determines changes to data structures and migrates those changes to one or more copies of the data structures
•Captures and records structure definitions and data within a Db2 subsystem at a point in time (to establish a full-recovery baseline)
•Recovers structures and data to a point in time defined by a full-recovery baseline within a Db2 subsystem
•Compares two versions of structure definitions to:
•Determine the changes necessary to upgrade one version to another


•Works under guidance of senior staff members.
•Develops and tests product code according to BMC quality standards. 
•Maintains knowledge of product environments and applicable software technologies. 
•Accurately estimates the size and scope of the development and/or testing effort of projects.
•Provides complete documentation in the form of commented code, problem status information, and design documents. 
•Performs thorough problem analysis that results in resolution of product-related problems according to BMC support standards. 
•Completes code and other deliverables on schedule. 
•Performs thorough unit testing; supports and/or performs systems and integration testing as required to provide a quality product. 
•Provides input to the Technical Writers for all product documentation. 
•Works with other teams in Development as well as other areas such as Quality Assurance and Support to deliver quality products and customer satisfaction.
•Participates in customer interactions when required. 
•Support cross-functional teams in customer-specific escalations. 
•Manage expectations through clear issue management. 
•Conducts and participates in team code, test plan (and other artifact) reviews. 
•Mentors earlier career staff.


•Mainframe Programming experience 
•Experience researching and using DB2 features
•Commitment to preserving customer data and security  
•Self-starter able to work independently to provide quality solutions with little oversight. 
•Able to manage a mixed workload of multiple ongoing tasks including new function development, product maintenance, and unit-testing and integration testing activities.
•Shares information

•Strong JCL skills
•C programming   
•DB2 – DBA or Programming experience using DB2 
•Experience using SQL 
•Debugging experience
•Understanding of DB2 Utilities  


•Agile Methodology
•C++, Assembler programming experience desirable
