This position will report directly to the VP – Global Tax and will play a managerial/supervisory role to a team of tax professionals. The position will be multi-disciplinary (e.g., international, federal) but will primarily focus on international tax research, planning, compliance, and audits. The position will require interaction and partnership with the corporate accounting group, treasury, legal and other business groups within BMC. The ideal candidate should have excellent management and analytical skills, motivation, and confidence to independently address issues. Other duties include:

  • Global management of transfer pricing planning and compliance
  • Management of BMC’s US foreign tax positions (FTCs, E&P, GILTI, FDII, etc.) and associated income tax accounting and compliance
  • Research and planning to minimize BMC’s cash taxes and effective tax rate
  • US income tax audit management and global tax audit monitoring
  • Management of intercompany agreements 
  • Management and monitoring of intellectual property issues
  • Legal entity restructuring planning, optimization of worldwide tax structure
  • Acquisition due diligence, planning, structuring and integration
  • Maintain knowledge of changing tax laws and regulations, identify and implement necessary changes

Position Requirements

  • CPA certification
  • Large corporate tax experience preferred; Big 4 public accounting experience preferred
  • Strong technical tax background; strong tax research and planning skills; strong compliance skills
  • Working knowledge of GAAP and tax impacts to financial statements 
  • Strong supervisory skills; ability to effectively manage people
  • Well organized; plans, organizes and monitors performance according to priorities
  • Hardworking; willing to get into the details; strong analytical thinking
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly self-motivated; takes initiative; proactive; anticipates situations; identifies and addresses issues; accountable
  • Ability to transfer the application of tax theory to business situations and transactions
